The Army and Navy have decided to speed up the citizenship process. Specialists and language skills are needed during wartime. Recruits can now get citizenship more quickly while in boot camp. A no-visitors change will be made to allow immigration officers to meet with the recruits. Military officials say its a break from going around the world and doing deployments. Only legal immigrants can apply and have to serve five years of honorable service or their citizenship will risk getting revoked. About 1,00 soldiers have obtained their citizenship while in basic training,in 2010.
